(Medical journal found in a hospital.)
Name: John Hemming
Age: 32
Condition: Unknown
Day 1: Patient was brought in complaining of severe pain throughout his body. Skin appears to be red and irritated. Patient was given a mild painkiller and antihistamine, condition improved slightly.
Day 3: Patient had no complaints for full 24 hours. Skin now appears to be "bumpy" almost like hives. Sending in for X-ray and taking blood tests. Gave patient anti-inflammatory medication and antibiotics.
Day 6: Confirmed what X-ray results told us three days ago. Patients bones are branching out, and they appear to be hardening. Patient says pain is back and we have increased the dosage of the patient's pain medication and given more antibiotics. Still waiting for blood tests, may take another four days yet.
Day 8: Nurses entered patient's room to find him thrashing about. Patient's bones breached the skin sometime last night... Almost like spikes. Patient is being moved to ICU.
(Separate page from doctor's personal notes.)
Day 9: I haven't heard anything from the ICU regarding the patient. I'm beginning to wonder what has happened. Nothing medicine has taught me can explain what is happening to this poor man. I saw a nurse being rolled on a gurney away from the ICU about an hour ago. She had all these...holes in her. Oh God...maybe it was-
(Rest of the entry is covered in blood.)
