So, I understand that getting through this site is difficult. In response to this, I have this handy-dandy guide to setting yourself up to Role-Play. (not failure. Failure isn't good.)
First and Foremost, READ THE RULES. I cannot stress enough how important they are. I don't expect you to memorize them, but c'mon. They're pretty basic, it shouldn't be too hard.
<<Rules>>
Okay, so starting off: Your name should be the name of your character. Didn't do that? That's okay because even if you did, you still need to do this (or it won't be capitalized). Click on your name. Your profile will come up. At the top of the gray box background, "Member's Bio" will show up in white. Next to that in red is, "Modify Profile." Click on that. The first thing it will say (after a blah, blah, blah) is "Account Information". Right under that is your username (which will never change) and your "*Display Name". This is where you can capitalize your name or enter your name. You can change this anytime you need to.
Alright- Now, to post your Character Bio is pretty simple. Go to the homepage Click on the second tab. There it has two boxes: "Noobville Tutorial" and "Who Will You Be?". Click on Who Will You Be?. There is only one topic there: "Story of Your Life". This is the Character Bio Template. We recommend copying this and pasting it into a word document so you can save it and work on it in pieces. Note that you don't have to fill out everything on there.
Once you have finished with it, you post the bio in "The Survivors". Found on the "Members" tab on the homepage It is the first thing there. Alright, so now you've clicked that, yes? The page is set up with two 'boxes'. There are the "Sub-Boards" and a box that holds all the topics. But that isn't important. In the Sub-boards box, there are four 'sub-boards'. Soldiers, Skirmishers, Medic, and Engineer. Read the rules and descriptions and pick which one suits your character. The rules can be found by clicking in the respective box or in the general topic box, they are 'sticky-ed' to the top. So they will always be there. (If you have any questions on where your character should go, PM any of the admins. We can help )
To post your Bio (and I understand that it's a weird set up) You have to start a new topic. To do that, click on one of the subforums. It will show you just one box listing all the 'characters' under that category. At the very top of the box is a black bar. On the right it says "search". On the left it should say, "Mark as Read", "New Thread" and "New Poll." You, obviously, want to start a new thread.
-You can edit a thread anytime you like. In fact, you can even change the title. But I might post an 'extra info' document later.
After your bio has been approved by the respective admin, you get to start RP-ing. For a veteran, either strike out on your own for awhile or find some people to groupie up with (recommended.) It doesn't matter at what location you start at. It can be ANYWHERE. If you'd like to suggest a location (I'm considering mountains and a forest) you can just ask and we'll get it set up for you.
If you're a noob, you can certainly try to make it on your own, but I would recommend "Noobville" for you. Read the "Introduction" first to get the rules on all that. There are two admins taking care of that. Mostly, it will be Luke who will do that, but he doesn't have a set thing of rules for that. If you get to a point that you've got the hang of RP-ing, then I would just PM him that and you can probably just end it there and we'll delete it or he'll wrap it up (hint, hint, Luke).
Let me know if this helps or if you feel that there is another part of this that should be covered.
